a letter from
the dreamer
I set out to create a yoga brand with an elevated aesthetic while offering practical functionality.
I am a former architectural designer. Structure and the ideals behind form-follows-function shape my aesthetic. I took what I knew to create the Manta Moon yoga bag line. Starting with the mat, an awkward but vital piece of practice equipment, each bag design is my answer to several pain points I have encountered over the decades of going to different types of yoga classes. My personal need to carry all my gear in one bag, not 3 separate ones, has been the biggest driver of the first two designs I decided to put into production. I can't wait to share the other bags that are waiting in my notebook to become realities. They are coming soon!
My deep interest towards the cause of changing the textile production industry for the better has put me on a journey. I believe fast fashion HAS TO become a thing of the past if we want to see meaningful global impacts and raise awareness to save this planet we live on.
If the goal is to make the textiles industry carbon neutral by 2050, even the smallest of companies like Manta Moon have to step up courageously and create a storm of interest in wanting to be mindful about our consumption choices. There have to be options out there where individuals can get in touch with their moral instincts and actively decide where they want to invest their money.
Change is happening, and Manta Moon will be a part of it. The bags stand on their own as lovely and functional pieces, but deeper than that, I want to create a sense of community. I set out to produce something wholesome and I am not done. This is never the last iteration. The materials are sourced to the best of my ability which highlights our effort to be sustainable as well as durable. Seasonal offerings are exclusive as each bag is small batch produced in Los Angeles, California (with love) to send out into this world.
I want all the yogis who graciously choose to take a chance on Manta Moon to go on this journey with me. I want you to use my bags each time you commit to the practice. Use them until they are worn and ready to retire. And when you send that bag on for recycling, the next iteration will be waiting for you. It will always be the honest next version of wherever I am on the path. I am now leaping, arms wide open into yours.
What comes next starts with YOU at the core. I welcome the love and I welcome the constructive critiques. I welcome it all because I was placed here to learn and then to graciously give back. I will give this venture my all and I won’t apologize for trying.
I am a mother, a dreamer, a cosmic speck in this vast Universe, and in this very moment I send my love to YOU for being the phenomenal star-seed that you are.
In Deep Gratitude,
